In 2018, our team visited four organizations in Sub-Saharan Africa that work to prevent HIV/AIDS through youth empowerment.

Multi-Award winning international actress, United Nations Messenger of Peace and South African gem Charlize Theron is in the country this week. Apart from attending the annual Nelson Mandela lecture delivered by former U.S president Barak Obama, Theron has also come to visit organizations supported and funded by her Africa Outreach Project.

In honor Nelson Mandela’s centenary, his grandson Kweku Mandela and Charlize Theron discussed Mandela’s continuing legacy in a wide-ranging conversation moderated by Soledad O’Brien. Theron discusses how Nelson Mandela and his belief in the power of youth influenced her Africa Outreach Program, which focuses on combating HIV.
